Set The Table!
It’s a new year so let’s start it off right! We are bringing back the sit down dinner! Ok we hear you grumbling, “TOO MUCH WORK!” Setting your table can be fun and there are a few ways to set the table depending on the occasion. We can use China, Dinnerware or Dishware. Sometimes when we think of setting the table we go right to China and China Patterns. We think of our mothers dragging us through a department store carrying a registry gun! Well dread no more, setting our tables can be fun if know what to use, when and how to use it!
China - Porcelain
When using the China that you may have gotten for your wedding or even a house warming, think formal, crystal flutes, silver or gold flatware, fabric tablecloths and napkins. Save this delicate gift for a dinner party for an anniversary, milestone birthday or christening dinner. Your guests will know the occasion is special when they see your table donning your best China! Always clean your China with care, one piece at a to avoid dings, use a soft cloth, mild detergent and warm water. Avoid rubbing the China and hand dry with a soft cloth.
Proper Formal Table Setting

Dinnerware - Ceramic or other materials
Dinnerware can be made from many different materials including ceramic, glass or metal. We would use our dinnerware for a less formal event such as birthdays, showers or a girls dinner. We find dinnerware in so many bright vivid colors, shapes and sizes. Dinnerware gives you the freedom to be creative and bold, no formal setting needed just fun and super chic! Dinnerware is less delicate than China but should be hand washed and dried for the best care.
Dishware - Ceramic
Dishware is a term used for a very everyday table setting. Your dishware also can come in many different colors and shapes but is very durable and is perfect for everyday meals. We pull out our dishware daily and can place in the dishwasher often for cleaning. Dishware does not require special handling or care, so save this for your weekday spaghetti dinners!
As you see setting the table does not have to be a bore, in actual reality we can use our settings how we choose, use your China for your Wednesday evening meal or your dinnerware for a formal occasion for a casual change there really are no rules just sit down and have fun!!
